Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop responsive e-commerce websites.
- Build user-friendly online stores for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Develop product catalogues, categories, search and filtering functionality.
- Integrate shopping carts and secure checkout systems.
- Integrate online payment gateways.
- Develop customer registration, login, and account management functionality.
- Implement order processing and order tracking systems.
- Integrate shipping and delivery functionality where required.
- Develop stock and inventory management features.
- Integrate email notifications for orders, payments, registrations, and customer enquiries.
- Implement website security, backups, and basic performance optimisation.
- Integrate third-party APIs and business systems when required.
- Test websites across different browsers and devices.
- Troubleshoot bugs and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain and update websites after deployment.
- Work closely with designers, project managers, and clients to deliver projects according to specifications.
- Provide technical recommendations and solutions to improve website functionality and user experience.
Required Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate should have experience with:
- HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
- Responsive web design
- E-commerce website development
- WordPress/WooCommerce or other e-commerce platforms
- PHP and/or modern web development frameworks
- Database development and management
- API integration
- Payment gateway integration
- Website security
- Git/version control
- Basic SEO and website performance optimisation
- Experience with platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, Laravel, React, Next.js, Node.js or similar technologies will be an advantage.
